Gaining Respect and Control on the Ground ,
Wednesday 22 July, 2009 Reviewer: KM753
Very clear and easy to follow instructions. Lots of demonstration of what works and what doesn't. I found the "common handler mistakes" very, very useful. Little mistakes like where your eyes are or dropping a hand a bit too low are so slight you may not even be aware you're doing it until Clinton explains and shows the result in the horse's behavior. And the light bulb goes on - that's exatly what my pony did so I must be making that common mistake and not even realize it! The DVDs follow right along with his book (which costs a lot less than buying his DVD set), so renting the DVDs combined with a used book made this excellent training program very affordable. My book now has lots of handwriten notes in it from studying the DVDs. |

I am new to owning a horse and while the horse I have had good ground training, he didn't respect me because I didn't know how to make him respect me. Well, he is now showing respect that he never did before. These DVDs are absolutely AMAZING! |

I have a new horse in 3 days!,

I can not say enough good things about this series of DVDs.
Clinton Anderson is a gifted instructor, methodical, pragmatic, humorous and NEVER has a condescending word or tone. I made a commitment to work thru this program step by step and within the first 3 days I felt like I had a new horse: focused, eager to please and much much calmer for it. His methods build one step onto another so it's not a quick fix but I have been able to make huge changes on my own.
The only negative comment I have is that at 53 years of age and having owned 17 horses w/ my family up to now (from Shetland ponies to 16.3 Warmbloods, horse camping to 3 day eventing) I regret not having this course of study earlier in my life! |

Gaining respect and control on the ground series 1,

Clinton Anderson presents his exercises in a very simple way to understand and he also always shows common mistakes both handlers and horses make so you are prepared to handle them. I love his techniques and find the control gained on the ground really does translate into the saddle. |
